Bells & Whistles

So, shortly after I created my 'blog page'.... describing all about my likes of music and how much time I get to spend behind the wheel relating the music I listen to, to life's little adventures, I had a little 'car mishap'.  For those of you who know me well, know about my car and the love I have for it.  For those of you who don't, I drive a 2006 Mercury Milan... and she's a beauty!!  We've been through a lot together, and at 130,000+ miles, have become quite fond of each other.

About 13 months ago, Ms. Milan decided she no longer liked her transmission.  So, my husband was pretty excited hoping we would get a new car.  NOPE, not this chick.  I often speak to one of my wonderful uncles, GUS, and he's FULL of wonderful advice.  So, off to the city to find a garage willing to put a salvaged transmission in.  We were back in business.  Ms. Milan and I were back to 'doin' our thang' which is cruisin' around the city and jammin' to the tunes of the various local stations, since with this little incident, my CD player went to crap and no longer worked

And then, about two weeks ago, as I'm leaving the office, she acts up.  All her gages are at 'zero' and when I pressed the petal to the metal, we were at about 5mph.  I'm telling you... bells and whistles going off like crazy... my dash board was so lit up with lights it may have looked a bit like Christmas.  Soooo, for the sake of a short story, a new alternator was needed.  Once again, the cute little hubby begs to go and look at new cars and since I've been dealing with a non-working car for most of that morning, I'm almost ready to beat him to the dealer.  But then again, GUS and I have our little conversation and I'm off to find a new alternator.  So with that, a bright and shinny new battery was bought also and there we were...just Me & Ms. Milan screaming back down I35.

Unfortunately, with this last little hiccup, my radio is now giving me the silent treatment.  Yep, it won't even turn on and come up with some crazy AM station.  Which means, I've either gone without, or yes... I have been known over the past two weeks to play my I-tunes off my phone while listening to the purr of the sweet sweet Mercury Milan.  Yes, I'll get 'er back in the shop sooner rather than later to hopefully get this resolved, but as for now I'm happy that I am fortunate enough that I have a car, and she doesn't let me down.... Sometimes silence is good for the soul... Lots of time to think about how fortunate we are.

Love to All,
Jacey
